Oklahoma’s 2018 recruiting class wasn’t quite finished.
The Sooners got a commitment from 2018 offensive lien prospect David Swaby on Monday.
Swaby comes for Navarro College and is expected to join OU this summer and be eligible for the upcoming fall.
Swaby is 6-foot-9 and 315 pounds and signed with New Mexico out of Los Angeles Salesian High School, but didn’t initially qualify. As a full JUCO qualifier, Swaby is expected to have three years of eligibility at OU.
“I would not be where I am today without the support and guidance of my mother and siblings who have been ny my side showing me unconditional love,” Swaby wrote on Twitter. “I would like to give a special thanks to the coaching staff at Navarro College, especially my great OL coach Jens Danielsen for encouraging and supporting me every step of the way and always believing in me.”
Although Swaby’s path to OU wasn’t the most linear, the Sooners have had plenty of success with such players in the past.
